Job summary

Blacklock Group, a leading boutique investment bank in New York, seeks an Investment Banking Associate for its FinTech team. You will work with senior bankers on high-profile M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory mandates, gaining substantial client exposure and execution experience.

You will lead financial modelling, develop merger analyses, and manage live transactions while mentoring Analysts and coordinating due diligence and materials for board-level review.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of investment banking experience with M&A advisory and transaction execution
• FinTech, Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Technology, or related sector experience desirable
• Outstanding financial modelling and valuation skills
• Strong understanding of M&A processes and capital markets transactions
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple live projects in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to excellence
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently with senior executives and entrepreneurs

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction materials
• Develop merger models, DCFs, LBOs, trading comparables, and precedent transaction analyses
• Manage day-to-day execution of live M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory assignments
• Prepare client presentations, marketing materials, and board-level documentation
• Coordinate due diligence processes and manage data rooms
• Work closely with senior bankers, clients, legal advisers, and other stakeholders
• Conduct in-depth industry and company research across the FinTech landscape
• Support business development initiatives and origination of new client relationships
• Mentor and oversee Analysts to ensure high-quality deliverables and efficient execution
