Job summary

ProsperOps is seeking a seasoned FinOps practitioner to support and expand our Autonomous Discount Management for AWS and Azure. You will partner with prospects and customers to tackle cloud cost optimization challenges and guide strategic and tactical FinOps decisions, shaping our future optimization services with the Product team.

The ideal candidate brings deep FinOps expertise, a strong cost-optimization background across at least one major cloud provider, and a willingness to deepen skills

Qualifications

• 2+ years of FinOps or Engineering with a cloud provider, consultancy, or AWS/Azure at scale.
• Experience with both AWS and Azure is a strong plus.
• Hands-on with cost tooling (AWS Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Report, Azure Cost Management/Billing) and data tooling.
• Strong writing and communication skills; ability to turn data into insights.
• Experience with API calls and data manipulation via SQL, CLI, or similar.
• Startup mindset with problem-solving and playbook creation.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to deliver product demos that showcase our edge and help close deals.
• Analyze cloud cost optimization opportunities across AWS and Azure and clearly communicate insights.
• Be the go-to expert on commitment-based discount instruments (RI/Savings Plans) on AWS and Azure.
• Craft and deliver dynamic demos that highlight ProsperOps value in sales engagements.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Operations to answer platform questions and demystify rate optimization.
• Team with Product to brainstorm and build new optimization services.
• Scope and configure Savings Analyses for each customer's cloud footprint.
• Contribute to feature development and automation that enhance Savings Analysis reports.

ProsperOps is seeking a seasoned FinOps practitioner to support and expand our industry-leading offering, Autonomous Discount Management for AWS and Azure. In this role, you will partner with both prospects and customers to address complex cloud cost optimization challenges and provide guidance on both strategic and tactical FinOps matters. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our optimization services by working closely with the Product team to develop new capabilities that deliver greater value to our customers. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in FinOps with a strong background in optimization strategies and execution across at least one major cloud provider, and a willingness to build depth in the other.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Partner with Account Executives to deliver engaging product demos that showcase our technical edge and help close deals with confidence.
• Analyze cloud cost optimization opportunities across AWS and Azure, and clearly communicate insights, whether through compelling write-ups or impactful conversations.
• Be the go-to expert on commitment-based discount instruments, including AWS Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, Azure Reservations and Savings Plans, and Spot capacity on both platforms, turning complex concepts into actionable guidance. AWS IAM or Azure IAM experience is a plus.
• Craft and deliver dynamic demos that make the ProsperOps value shine during sales engagements.
• Collaborate with our Sales and Customer Operations teams to answer platform questions and demystify cloud rate optimization strategies.
• Team up with our Product Team to brainstorm and build innovative optimization services that help customers save even more.
• Scope and configure Savings Analyses to tailor insights to each customer's unique cloud footprint.
• Contribute to feature development and automation efforts that enhance Savings Analysis reports and other key tools.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a FinOps or Engineering role with a cloud service provider, consultancy, or company running AWS or Azure at scale. Experience with both is a strong plus.
• Prior experience as an Analyst or Presales Engineer is highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with native cost tooling such as AWS Cost Explorer and the Cost and Usage Report, or Azure Cost Management and Billing, along with 3rd party cloud management platforms or home-grown applications
• Strong computation, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to make API calls and run queries to collect and manipulate data. Experience with SQL, Athena, QuickSight, Power BI, Azure Synapse, and command line tooling is a huge plus
