Job summary

Bank of America is actively seeking a FinOps Engineer to partner with engineering and business teams on cloud cost governance and optimization. You will design and maintain reporting, dashboards, and processes to provide visibility into spend and usage across cloud platforms, while promoting best practices in financial accountability.

The role emphasizes automation, data quality, and collaboration with SRE and development teams to drive efficient, scalable cloud financial operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps practices.
• Ability to analyze consumption trends and cost drivers.
• Understanding of chargeback/showback and budgeting.
• Proven ability to provide actionable reporting to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with automation of reporting and dashboards.
• Hands-on scripting in Python and SQL for data extraction.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering and tech teams to instrument and monitor key services.
• Develop reliability scripts and tooling for automation and observability.
• Lead cost optimization efforts across cloud platforms and teams.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and executive reporting on cloud spend.
• Create automated reporting and dashboards to improve visibility into usage.
• Administer FinOps tools and ensure data accuracy for reporting.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to promote FinOps best practices.
