Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a FinOps Engineer to strengthen cloud financial management across our cloud platforms. You will partner with engineering and technology teams to implement cost controls, reporting, and dashboards that drive responsible cloud spending.

This role requires hands-on Python for data extraction, SQL querying, and automation, plus collaboration with SREs and agile teams to improve reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in FinOps and cloud cost management with cost allocation knowledge.
• Ability to perform optimization analysis and cost-efficiency improvements.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for cloud finances.
• Ability to provide actionable reporting and insights to both technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Understand technical solutions and implement monitoring per SRE designs.
• Develops reliability scripts and tools for instrumentation and automation.
• Collaborate to apply common reliability libraries across teams.
• Participate in architecture community of practice and cross-channel communications.
• Identify reliability improvements and reduce manual support through automation.
• Provide financial analysis and executive reporting on cloud spending.
