Job summary

WEX is expanding its FinOps practice and seeks a FinOps Analyst to translate cloud usage data into actionable insights for engineers, finance partners, and leaders. You will prepare financial and usage data for stakeholders via FinOpsly, Excel, and Google Sheets, delivering recurring reports and ad-hoc analyses to drive cost optimization and accountability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a financial analysis, business analysis, data analysis, or cloud operations role.
• Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to work with large, messy datasets and translate them into clear summaries and recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both engineering teams and finance/business leaders.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and managing multiple concurrent ad-hoc requests alongside recurring deliverables.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, Economics, Data Analytics, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Cost reporting & analysis — Prepare recurring monthly reports and slide decks summarizing cloud spend, trends, and variance against plan.
• Ad-hoc cost analysis — Respond to targeted questions from application owners, architects, and finance partners.
• Optimization recommendations — Surface and package optimization opportunities for engineering teams.
• Commitment & reservation management — Support Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and track savings.
• Anomaly detection & tracking — Monitor spend, investigate root causes, and track issues to resolution.
• Budget maintenance — Update cloud budgets, forecasts, and cost allocation structures.
• Tooling administration — Administer FinOpsly platform, dashboards, and alerts.
• Stakeholder engagement — Attend meetings to socialize recommendations and drive accountability.
• Tagging & allocation hygiene — Improve tagging compliance and cost allocation accuracy.
