Job summary

WEX, Inc. is seeking a FinOps Analyst to drive financial accountability for cloud spend across engineering and finance teams. You will turn raw billing data into actionable insights, helping teams size, deploy, and manage costs.

Lead cost reporting, ad-hoc analyses, and optimization recommendations using FinOpsly and internal tools. Strong Excel, data analysis, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in financial/data analysis, cloud operations, or similar roles.
• Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.
• Able to translate large datasets into clear summaries and recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfort working with ambiguity and managing multiple ad-hoc requests.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, IS, Economics, Data Analytics, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Cost reporting & analysis: produce monthly cloud spend reports and decks for engineers, finance, and execs.
• Ad-hoc cost analysis for workloads, accounts, services, or units.
• Surface optimization opportunities (rightsizing, idle resources, storage tiers, license rationalization).
• Support reservation management (RI, Savings Plans, committed-use discounts) and track savings.
• Monitor for anomalous spend; investigate root cause and track to resolution.
• Maintain cloud budgets, forecasts, and cost allocation structures.
• Administer FinOpsly platform, including user access, mappings, dashboards, and alerts.
• Engage with account administrators and financial owners to review spend and drive accountability.
• Improve tagging and cost allocation hygiene with engineering teams.
