Job summary

WEX is seeking a FinOps Analyst to turn cloud usage data into actionable insights, bridging engineering and finance. You’ll interpret invoices, monitor spend, and present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You will own cost reporting, ad-hoc analyses, and optimization recommendations using FinOpsly and internal tools like Google Sheets and Excel. A strong communicator with 2+ years in related roles is ideal.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in financial, business, data analysis or cloud operations.
• Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets and Excel.
• Ability to translate large messy datasets into summaries and recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple ad-hoc requests with recurring deliverables.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, IS, Economics or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Cost reporting & analysis — monthly spend, trends, and variance summaries for stakeholders.
• Ad-hoc cost analysis — answer questions about workloads, accounts, or services.
• Optimization recommendations — rightsizing, idle resource cleanup, storage tiering, license rationalization.
• Commitment & reservation management — track reservations and realized savings.
• Anomaly detection & tracking — investigate spend anomalies and drive resolution.
• Budget maintenance — update cloud budgets and cost allocation structures.
• Tooling administration — manage FinOpsly platform, mappings, views, dashboards, alerts.
• Stakeholder engagement — participate in reviews with admins and financial owners.
• Tagging & allocation hygiene — improve tagging compliance and cost allocation accuracy.
