Job summary

sg360° is seeking a Finishing Supervisor to lead daily production activities in our Finishing Department. You will oversee staffing, assign work, and ensure on-time completion while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency.

This role requires hands-on leadership and coordination with multiple finishing operations such as Folding, Cutting, Attaching, Imaging, Inserting, Die-Cutting, and Shrink Wrapping. You will monitor performance, review tickets, and provide guidance to employees.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years finishing or bindery production experience.
  • Experience as lead or supervisor preferred.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to read and respond to work emails.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily production schedules and adjust priorities to meet on-time completion.
  • Assign staffing to maximize productivity and balance workloads.
  • Review job tickets and ensure revisions are completed accurately.
  • Communicate job status and issues to the Shift Manager.

Position Summary

sg360° is looking for a Finishing Supervisor to lead daily production activities and employees within our Finishing Department. Under the direction of the Shift Manager, this position is responsible for keeping production on schedule while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, safety, and productivity.

The Supervisor will provide hands-on leadership, assign work, adjust staffing and priorities, troubleshoot production issues, communicate job status, and support the training and development of production employees. This position may oversee one or more finishing operations, including: Folding, Cutting, Attaching, Imaging, Inserting, Die-Cutting, Shrink Wrapping.

Responsibilities Include:
Production & Operations
  • Monitor daily production schedules and adjust priorities to support on-time completion.
  • Assign and adjust staffing to effectively utilize available employees and maximize productivity.
  • Review job tickets and ensure revisions and updates are completed accurately.
  • Communicate job status, production quantities, issues, rework, staffing needs, and other important information to the Shift Manager.
  • Review requirements for non-routine jobs and provide clear direction to production employees.
  • Ensure packaging requirements are completed according to customer specifications.
  • Record accurate production information, including job numbers, equipment used, and crew assignments.
  • Monitor waste, employee downtime, supplies, and other resources to help control production costs.
Quality & Accuracy
  • Monitor production to ensure finished products meet customer specifications.
  • Work closely with Quality Control to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Review, approve, and sign Quality Control time pulls.
  • Monitor and approve production samples.
  • Verify that the correct inkjet files are loaded on the appropriate equipment.
  • When assigned to Cutting, review rule-up sheets and cutting samples for proper setup and accuracy.
  • Ensure applicable USPS requirements are followed for finished products entering the mail stream.
Employee Leadership & Development
  • Provide daily direction and support to production employees.
  • Train employees on job responsibilities, equipment operation, production procedures, safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Provide coaching, recognition, and performance feedback.
  • Address performance or attendance concerns and communicate potential employee issues to the Shift Manager.
  • Support employee development and help build a strong, productive team.
Safety & Housekeeping
  • Promote and enforce a safe work environment and established safety procedures.
  • Ensure permanent and temporary employees follow required safety practices.
  • Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards throughout assigned production areas.
  • When assigned to the Clean Room, enforce applicable procedures and restrict access to authorized personnel.
Operational Support
  • Ensure necessary supplies, equipment, postal tray tags, and other resources are available to support production.
  • Coordinate with other departments to maintain an efficient flow of materials and work.
  • Stage materials, supplies, and postal materials for upcoming jobs when time and space permit.
  • Provide hands-on support with setups and troubleshooting when assigned to Imaging.
  • Communicate temporary staffing needs for upcoming shifts when needed.
  • Order USPS supplies when assigned.
  • Approve jobs beginning during the assigned shift when delegated by the Shift Manager.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed.
Requirements
Qualifications
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of bindery, finishing, or related production experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as a lead, trainer, or supervisor in a production environment preferred.
  • Experience coordinating daily workflows and responding to production issues.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to read and respond to work-related email.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as business and production needs require.
Preferred:
  • Supervisory or leadership training.
  • Trade, vocational, or equipment manufacturer training related to bindery or finishing operations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Working knowledge of bindery and finishing equipment and processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide clear direction and work effectively with employees and other departments.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Ability to identify and address routine production, equipment, workflow, and personnel issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to train, coach, and motivate production employees.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
