Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Screening Operator for the Troy, MI facility to operate and set up screening, packaging, remelt/warehouse, and cladding equipment. You will ensure homogeneous materials and meet safety, quality, and production goals.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, sample submissions to QC, and supporting other finishing departments as needed. Competitive benefits and a robust program are offered starting on day one.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Mathematics (Decimals, Fractions, Percentages, Weighted Averages).
• Strong customer focus - internal and external.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office.

Responsibilities

• Set up the screen, including installation of specified screen and placement of labeled, color-coded hoppers for collection of screened material.
• Clean screening equipment between alloys to remove residual powder.
• Submit samples of in-process and finished product to the Quality Control laboratory for testing, identifying product with proper heat or lot number.
• Meet or exceed safety, environmental, health, quality, productivity, and goals for department.
• Contribute to continual improvement activities.
• Notify lead or supervisor about any problems.
• Assist in other finishing departments (e.g., Canning, Remelt, Cladding, Blends).
• Perform other duties as required.
