Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Screening Operator for the Troy, MI facility to set up and operate equipment in the Finishing Process, including Screening, Packaging, Remelt/Warehouse and Cladding. You will ensure material homogeneity and help meet safety, quality and production targets.

Under supervision, you install screens, label and color‑code hoppers, run QA tests and support other finishing activities. The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork and adherence to procedures in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Math proficiency with decimals, fractions, percentages and weighted averages.
• Strong customer focus for internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, sets up the screen and installs the specified screen and labeled, color‑coded hoppers.
• Cleans screening equipment between alloys to remove residual powder.
• Submits in‑process and finished product samples to QA for testing and proper heat/lot numbering.
• Meets or exceeds safety, environmental, health, quality, production and productivity goals.
• Contributes to continual improvement activities and process refinements.
• Notifies lead or supervisor about problems and equipment issues.
• Assists in other finishing departments (e.g., Canning, Remelt, Cladding, Blends).
• Performs other duties as required.
