Job summary

Oerlikon Group in Troy, MI is seeking a Screening Operator to set up and operate screening and finishing equipment. You will ensure homogeneity of in-process material and finished products while meeting safety, quality, and production targets.

You will work under the Team Lead/Supervisor, perform setup of screens, run tests with samples to QC, and contribute to continual improvement. The role offers a dynamic team, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Experience with finishing processes and screening equipment preferred.
• Ability to handle safety, quality, and productivity targets.

Responsibilities

• Sets up the screen, including installation of specified screen and labeling of hoppers for collection of screened material.
• Cleans screening equipment between alloys to remove residual powder.
• Submits samples of in-process and finished product to the Quality Control laboratory for testing with proper heat or lot numbers.
• Meets or exceeds safety, environmental, and health goals for the department.
• Meets or exceeds quality goals for production orders.
• Meets or exceeds productivity targets.
• Contributes to continual improvement activities.
• Notifies lead or supervisor about problems.
• Assists in other Finishing departments (Canning, Remelt, Cladding, Blends).
• Performs other duties as required

We are looking for a Screening Operator for our Troy facility. In this role you will set up and operate all equipment for the Finishing Process including Screening, Packaging, Remelt/Warehouse and Cladding. The Screening Operator is responsible for homogeneity of in-process material and finished products. Is responsible for meeting or exceeding safety, quality, and production targets.

Your Responsibilities:

• Cleans screening equipment between alloys to remove residual powder.
• Submits samples of in-process and finished product to the Quality Control laboratory for testing, identifying product with proper heat or lot number.
• Meets or exceeds all safety, environmental, and health goals for department.
• Meets or exceeds quality goals for production orders.
• Meets or exceeds productivity targets.
• Contributes to continual improvement activities.
• Notifies lead or supervisor about any problems.
• Assisting in other Finishing departments (i.e. Canning, Remelt, Cladding, Blends)
• Performs other duties as required

Your Profile:

• Proficient in Mathematics (Decimals, Fractions, Percentages, Weighted Averages)
• Strong customer focus - internal and external.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office
