Job summary

Avery Dennison in Greenfield, IN is seeking a Finishing Business Unit Manager to lead multiple shifts in a 24/7 production environment and drive performance across coating and finishing operations.

You will direct day-to-day activities, mentor frontline supervisors, manage budgets, and partner with the Plant Leadership Team to meet safety, quality, and cost objectives while delivering continuous improvement results.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Operations/Manufacturing experience with 3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead and manage individuals and teams in a team-based organization.
• Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow, and improvement strategies (e.g., ELS, continuous flow, cellular) with the ability to integrate them into operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of financial systems, key drivers within the manufacturing environment, and strong organizational skills in strategy, communication at all levels, and execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations, coordinating shifts, and managing budgets and cost variances.
• Oversee Shift Managers across Coating, Finishing, Shipping, and Material Handling.
• Support the development and implementation of Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity, Cost, and Continuous Improvement/ELS initiatives.
• Mentor and coach direct reports, promote collaborative workforce relationships and performance development.
• Act as safety champion by leading investigations and coordinating return-to-work for Occupational Health.
