Job summary
Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Forge team is seeking a Finishing Working Lead for a weekend day shift (Friday–Sunday, 7:00 am–7:00 pm). In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide daily finishing operations, provide technical expertise, coach team members, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery of aerospace components.
You will read blueprints, perform shop math, and use precision measuring tools, while tracking in-process work and coordinating maintenance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 6+ years of manufacturing experience, technical or military training.
- Leadership, coaching, or mentoring in manufacturing is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily Finishing operations, coordinating workflow and ensuring safety, quality, and delivery.
- Coach and develop team members, schedule training and career development with supervisors.
- Perform hands-on manufacturing work: read blueprints, follow work instructions, and use precision measuring tools.
- Track in-process work, lead tier meetings, order tools and supplies, and support daily admin.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance through ANDON/MTS systems and support CI initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies.
