Job summary

The Finishing Manager oversees bindery and finishing operations in a print manufacturing environment. This role plans and coordinates production workflows, manages and trains finishing staff, and ensures jobs are completed accurately, on time, and to quality standards.

The manager monitors and maintains bindery equipment, interprets job tickets and layouts, uses production tracking systems, and upholds safety and company policies while supporting continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading bindery and finishing operations.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and workflow coordination skills.
• Proficiency with ERP or production-tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily bindery and finishing operations to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.
• Plan and coordinate finishing workflows and staffing across equipment and shifts.
• Monitor, maintain, and coordinate repair of bindery equipment for safety and performance.
• Coach and evaluate finishing staff; provide training as needed.
• Review and improve department procedures, workflows, and production standards.
• Ensure accurate execution of job tickets, layouts, and finishing specifications.
• Track production using shop-floor or ERP systems and report on key performance metrics.
• Enforce company policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
