Mittera Creative + Tech is seeking a Bindery Manager to lead the Berkeley bindery and finishing department, ensuring safe, on-time production to quality standards. The role directs people, scheduling, equipment, maintenance, and process improvements across the department, serving as the technical resource for guillotine cutting, folding, and related finishing processes.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressively responsible bindery/finishing experience, including cutting, folding, folder-gluing, and die-cutting.
• Three+ years supervisory or management experience in printing, packaging, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Practical knowledge of guillotine cutting, folding, folder-gluing, die cutting, and clamshell die cutting.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read job tickets, diagrams, schedules, and customer specifications.
• Ability to perform basic math and production calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead all bindery and finishing operations across scheduled shifts.
• Prioritize, schedule, and assign work to meet customer specs and delivery commitments.
• Review tickets, production plans, and instructions before starting production.
• Maximize equipment and labor utilization and reduce setup time.
• Monitor productivity, efficiency, labor, materials, and waste; implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Scheduling, Prepress, Press, and Customer Service to resolve constraints.
