Job summary

The Finishing Manager oversees bindery and finishing operations in a print manufacturing environment. This role plans and coordinates production workflows, manages and trains finishing staff, and ensures jobs are completed on time and to quality standards.

The manager monitors bindery equipment, interprets job tickets and layouts, uses production tracking systems, and upholds safety and company policies while supporting continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily bindery and finishing operations to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.
• Plan and coordinate finishing workflows and staffing across equipment and shifts.
• Monitor, maintain, and coordinate repair of bindery equipment for optimal performance and safety.
• Manage, coach, and evaluate finishing staff performance and support training needs.
• Review and improve department procedures, workflows, and production standards.
• Ensure accurate execution of job tickets, layouts, and finishing specifications.
• Track production using shop-floor or ERP systems and report on key performance metrics.
• Enforce company policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
