Job summary

Materion Corporation is seeking a Machine Operator II - Finishing/Conditioning to improve surface condition of rolled products and operate finishing equipment on the 3rd shift. The role involves sanding, grinding, and setting up leveling machinery to meet tight dimensional specs.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED and 0–2 years of related production experience, with basic math skills and familiarity with measuring tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of production experience in manufacturing.
• Basic math skills required.
• Understanding of measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers).
• Good communication skills to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude; machining experience is a plus.
• May require fork trucks/overhead cranes/hand tools; ability to obtain forklift and/or overhead crane licenses and lockout/tagout certification.

Responsibilities

• Sands or grinds rolled materials to meet product specs (Class 1 etc.).
• Sets up and operates leveling equipment.
• Sets up and operates shears to meet dimensional specs.
• Assists in handling material at rolling mills.
• Adheres to safety PPE and environmental policies.
• Interprets specifications and uses measuring instruments.
• Identifies problems and seeks solutions.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
