Job summary

Kelly is seeking an Assembly Worker to join a premier manufacturing client in Northbrook, IL. This onsite role supports finishing operations on dental instruments, including buffing, grinding, shaping, and polishing. Training and safety are emphasized as you learn measurement techniques and quality checks.

The position offers first shift hours with a starting pay of $18 per hour, and opportunities to grow within the company as you develop technical skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• One year of experience with machines, tools, or equipment, including grinding machines and small tools for setup.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills in English.
• Ability to perform routine, repetitive operations with attention to detail.
• Able to work under general supervision and make independent judgments regarding product quality.
• Willingness to learn to use measurement instruments and basic blueprint reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform finishing operations on dental instruments (buffing, grinding, shaping, polishing).
• Use abrasive belts and wheels to finish hardened instruments with precision.
• Detect unacceptable quality and correct processes to meet standards.
• Maintain compliance with product specs using measurement tools and drawings.
• Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines and record work performed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

What’s a typical day as Assembly Worker?

• Performing various finishing operations on dental instruments, including buffing, grinding, shaping, and polishing
• Utilizing abrasive belts and wheels to finish hardened dental instruments with precision and attention to detail
• Detecting unacceptable quality and correcting practices or processes to meet established standards
• Maintaining compliance with product specifications using measurement tools and drawings
• Following OSHA and company guidelines for safety
• Recording work performed via bar code system or manual log
• Completing other duties as assigned

• Possess basic reading, writing, and math skills in English
• Can perform routine, repetitive operations while maintaining attention to detail
• Are able to work well under general supervision and make independent judgments regarding product quality
• Can learn to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and protractors, and have basic blueprint reading skills
• Bring manual dexterity and a willingness to learn new instruments using written specifications or samples
• Are capable of training others to follow established work instructions
• Computer knowledge is helpful but not required
