Job summary

Pendleton Woolen Mills (retail) is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day production operations in a union manufacturing setting. You will supervise staff, ensure safety, quality, cost, and delivery, and enforce the CBA across your area.

The role emphasizes coaching, disciplined documentation, and on-floor leadership to meet production goals. Strong knowledge of Lean or continuous improvement and ISO/QMS familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and ability to enforce safety policies.
• Minimum of five years of production management experience, preferably across multiple shifts in a unionized environment.
• Experience with performance management, coaching, corrective action, and employee documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to lead a diverse workforce and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Outlook and Excel; ability to use timekeeping and business systems.
• Experience monitoring KPIs; Lean or continuous improvement knowledge preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or QMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Enforce safety standards and address unsafe conditions immediately.
• Assign work, set priorities, and adjust staffing to meet production goals.
• Monitor quality and ensure products meet specifications.
• Train and coach employees, provide feedback and corrective direction as needed.
• Apply company policies and the CBA consistently and fairly.
• Administer progressive discipline per guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation of performance, attendance, and incidents.
• Review and enforce timekeeping and attendance requirements.
• Identify and resolve operational, production, and equipment issues; coordinate with maintenance.
• Lead shift (Tier 1) meetings and communicate expectations clearly.
• Support QMS requirements, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
