NHI Commercial is seeking a skilled and dependable Finish Carpenter to join our construction team. The Finish Carpenter is responsible for completing detailed carpentry work during the final stages of residential and multi-family renovation projects. This position requires strong attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, the ability to read plans and measurements, and a commitment to completing work safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works well independently and with a team, and understands the importance of maintaining a professional job site.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform finish carpentry work on residential and multi-family renovation projects.
• Install interior doors, door frames, trim, baseboards, casing, crown molding, and other finish materials.
• Install and repair cabinets, shelving, countertops, and other built-in features.
• Complete drywall finishing, patching, and minor repairs as needed.
• Measure, cut, fit, and install materials accurately.
• Perform punch-list and warranty work, ensuring completed work meets company quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, drawings, and measurements.
• Inspect completed work and identify areas requiring adjustment or correction.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Properly use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
• Work collaboratively with Site Supervisors, Project Managers, subcontractors, and other field employees.
• Communicate material needs, job-site concerns, delays, or changes to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Protect finished surfaces, materials, tools, and equipment from damage.
• Perform other construction-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Previous experience in finish carpentry or residential/commercial construction required.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install materials.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver construction materials and equipment.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work on ladders and in confined or elevated areas when necessary.
• Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor construction environments.

Pay range: $35-$50 per hour based on experience. (Some jobs are prevailing wage - potential for up to $65/hour)
