Job summary

Acker, established in 1820, seeks a Fine and Rare Wine Warehouse Specialist to support receiving, inspecting, and inventorying wine for sale. You will learn authenticating processes and work with experts to deepen your knowledge of provenance and condition.

The role offers a path to hands-on wine expertise in a dynamic auction and retail environment, with opportunities to travel to offsite cellars and contribute to audits and precise stock management.

Qualifications

• WSET or other wine education, with strong wine knowledge and aspirations to deepen expertise in fine and rare wine.
• Have 3 or more years of warehouse and inventory experience.
• Spirits knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inventory wines based on appellation, region, vineyard, producer and vintage, building deep wine knowledge of fine and rare wine.
• Inspect products for defects or damages.
• Receive training in authenticating wines.
• Perform in-house inspections of wine and spirits.
• Grow wine labeling, provenance and condition knowledge to support authentication.
• Gain exposure to rare fine and rare wines through Acker’s auctions and retail inventory.
• Work with wine authentication specialists to develop deep expertise.
• Oversee and support receiving and unpacking of incoming products.
• Conduct spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
• Box, palletize and store inventory.
• Use warehouse systems to track inventory across warehouse and cellar.
• Maintain daily records of goods received.
• Maintain a clean, safe warehouse space.
• Travel to offsite wine cellars to perform duties.
• Perform other related duties as requested.
