Job summary

Domtar is seeking a Fine Paper Machine (FPM) Shift Supervisor at our Hawesville, KY facility to coordinate safe and cost-effective operations in the Fine Paper area. You will ensure environmental compliance and work closely with maintenance and operations on repairs and outages while managing a unionized workforce under the DAWS system.

The role demands a strong safety mindset, clear communication, and the ability to lead a team through planning, training and performance development in a 24/7

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Paper, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related discipline preferred; if no degree, 5+ years of practical experience in a paper facility.
• Must be able to climb stairs & ladders, open valves, wear respirators, and enter confined spaces when needed.
• Able to work in paper dust, heat, dirt, chemicals, noise, and other industrial conditions.
• Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift (4 on & 4 off) or as needed for relief positions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe, cost-effective operation of the Fine Paper area.
• Ensure environmental compliance and coordinate maintenance & operations on repairs & outages.
• Set expectations and manage crew performance; conduct evaluations and improvement plans.
• Develop training for hourly team and align with DAWS requirements.
• Resolve union disagreements at the first level and maintain safe working relationships.
