Job summary

Domtar Hawesville is seeking a Fine Paper Machine Shift Supervisor to coordinate the safe, cost-effective operation of the Fine Paper area at the mill, maintaining environmental compliance and DAWS processes.

The role leads the hourly workforce, coordinates with maintenance, and ensures safety, productivity, and continuous improvement within a 12-hour rotating shift and unionized environment at the Hawesville facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; engineering degree preferred.
• If no degree, 5+ years of practical paper facility experience.
• If degree, 2+ years in a paper manufacturing facility.
• Ability to work in a 12-hour rotating shift and in an industrial environment.
• Strong safety focus and DAWS experience preferred.
• Able to climb stairs, wear PPE, and operate in a unionized environment.

Responsibilities

• Proactive safety leadership and uphold Domtar safety principles.
• Lead and support the Fine Paper Mill department goals.
• Coordinate between maintenance and operations on repairs and outages.
• Plan and assign work for crews and maintenance support.
• Resolve union disagreements at the first level.
• Set performance expectations and develop improvement plans.
• Develop training for hourly team and orientation.
• Support DAWS requirements for crew skill development.
