Job summary

Essex Meadows in Connecticut seeks a Server to join our culinary team in a fine dining environment. Positions offer both part-time and full-time opportunities with a 20–40 hour week; weekends, holidays, and events as needed.

Compensation is $19 per hour with comprehensive benefits for full-time staff. We provide a supportive, upscale work setting near a nature preserve and shoreline, with training to ensure excellent service.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer, or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, management and peers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.
• Have knowledge of all current offerings and specials.
• Properly carry and handle service trays in a safe and professional manner.
• Learn the department’s steps of service throughout the meal period, answering questions, and making appropriate suggestions regarding food and beverages.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of side stations and equipment; report problems to the manager and restock service items.
• Fulfill all assigned side work during and prior to the end of your shift.
• Assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
