Job summary

Essex Meadows in Connecticut is seeking a Server for part-time and full-time opportunities. You will deliver hospitality-focused service in a fine dining setting, with weekend, holiday, and event coverage as needed.

Join a team that values residents and guests and learn all current offerings and specials. You will safely carry service trays, assist with dishwashing when needed, and participate in in-service trainings. We offer comprehensive benefits and daily pay options.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining high level of customer service for residents and guests.
• Know current offerings and specials.
• Carry and handle service trays safely and professionally.
• Learn the department’s steps of service and suggest foods/beverages.
• Maintain cleanliness of side stations and equipment; report issues.
• Fulfill side work and assist with dish washing as needed.
• Attend in-service trainings and education sessions.
• Perform duties as assigned by management.

General Summary:

Join our culinary team and deliver hands-on, hospitality-focused service in a fine dining setting. Whether you're experienced or eager to learn, we’ll train you to shine.

• Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.
• Have knowledge of all current offerings and specials.
• Properly carry and handle service trays in a safe and professional manner.
• Learn the department’s steps of service throughout the meal period, answering questions, and making appropriate suggestions regarding food and beverages.
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of side stations and equipment, reporting any equipment problems immediately to the manager.Keep service items restocked as needed throughout the service period.
• Fulfill all assigned side work during and prior to the end of your shift.
• Assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer, or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, management and peers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
