The Umstead Hotel & Spa in Cary, NC is seeking a full-time Host/Hostess for Herons restaurant. The role involves greeting guests, delivering courteous service, and supporting the Food & Beverage team.

Proficiency with OpenTable and Word is helpful; prior restaurant experience is preferred. Expect an 8-hour shift with a friendly, professional atmosphere and opportunities for growth within a fine dining setting at the hotel.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar position.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and manage guest interactions with a friendly, positive demeanor.
• Provide polite, professional, fast, and courteous service as a Host/Hostess.
• Assist in tasks across the Food & Beverage Department as needed (bussing, delivering, resetting tables).
• Communicate upcoming reservations and guest needs clearly to staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and efficiency of the restaurant and support teamwork.
