Job summary

The Umstead Hotel & Spa in Cary, NC seeks a Bar and Lounge Host to welcome guests, manage seating in the Bar and Lounge, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. You will proactively greet patrons, manage waitlists, take reservations, and ensure smooth service in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of customer service experience, restaurant or hotel familiarity, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of customer service experience; restaurant or hotel experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain calm during busy or stressful situations.
• Strong communication and attention to guest needs and dietary requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage a waitlist and seat guests in Bar and Lounge.
• Greet guests, welcome and seat accordingly per standards.
• Assist with clearing and resetting tables as needed.
• Attend pre-shift meetings and required trainings.
• Comply with The Umstead Hotel & Spa Vision and Values and work with other departments.
