Job summary

Saint John’s Communities invites applications for a PRN Banquet Wait Staff role. You will assist with event setup, guest service, beverage service, and dish handling while maintaining cleanliness and safety across banquet areas.

Responsibilities include learning service rules, supporting residents and guests with warmth, and working with the team to ensure timely, courteous service during events. Prior banquet experience is preferred, and strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have over 6 months of wait staff experience in a banquet service setting or transferable hospitality skills.
• Must demonstrate the ability to comprehend and follow established procedures with accuracy.
• Must read, write, and speak English clearly; strong verbal communication required.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms and tables for events and serve food and beverages.
• Learn and execute rules of service; assist with course service and clearing.
• Maintain cleanliness of banquet areas and storage; return equipment to storage.
• Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining sanitation per policy.
• Set up and serve alcoholic beverages when requested; ensure proper service.
• Follow communication lines and supervise staff to maintain service standards.
• Work cooperatively with residents, clients, families, visitors, and staff.
