Job summary

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York seeks a Financial Systems Engineer to join the Technology department. The hybrid role supports the Aderant financial system, working with Finance, IT, and others to resolve complex issues and implement upgrades.

Responsibilities include maintaining Aderant modules, performing QA on installations, and providing regular updates to stakeholders. Strong SQL and Microsoft stack knowledge, plus weekend/after-hours availability, are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting a complex ecosystem.
• Proficiency with T-SQL.
• Excellent verbal, written, and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft stack: Active Directory, Server OS, Group Policy, file security.
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability for weekend and after-hours support.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the Aderant financial system as primary engineer.
• Provide expert-level support across Aderant modules.
• Debug issues using SQL and Aderant database structures.
• Understand accounting workflows across modules.
• Create and maintain Generic Importer files.
• Install, maintain and support other financial systems.
• Perform QA testing of installs and upgrades.
• Provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT teams to resolve issues.
• Adhere to change management and service continuity policies.
• Other duties as assigned by Financial Systems Manager.
