Job summary

McGuireWoods in San Francisco seeks a 4–6 year associate to join its Financial Services & Securities Enforcement team. You will manage litigation from pleadings through resolution and work on complex regulatory-facing matters for leading financial institutions and fintechs.

The role emphasizes writing, strategy, and client liaison, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and collaborate across teams on mass actions, consumer protection matters, and arbitrations.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of litigation experience at an AmLaw 100 or comparable firm.
• Experience with complex commercial litigation, class actions, mass arbitrations, and/or regulatory investigations.
• Strong writing, analytical, and client-facing skills.
• California Bar admission required.
• Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage key aspects of litigation from pleadings through resolution.
• Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings.
• Work directly with clients on strategy, risk assessment, and case management.
• Contribute to complex matters involving consumer protection, fraud, unfair competition, and financial services disputes.
• Collaborate across teams on matters that may involve parallel regulatory or investigative components.
• Mentor junior associates and oversee discrete workstreams.
