Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related areas required.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in accounting/finance support or related area.
  • Minimum Education Qualification can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides highly skilled assistance to the department; may review applications to determine program eligibility or compliance.
  • Manages an assigned budget; monitors expenditures and recommends budget processes.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates meetings; reserves rooms, maintains calendars, and administers contracts.
  • Prepares, edits, formats, reconciles, and submits financial and analytical reports and documents.
  • Performs customer service duties via phone, email, or in person.
  • Coordinates district-wide business travel for the department.
  • Coordinates with internal/external personnel to communicate information and facilitate operations.
  • Performs office management duties including inventory, supplies, and mail.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Incumbent provides comprehensive and professional administrative support, and assists with financial/accounting analysis and research, and projects for an assigned functional area. Major duties and responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, College policies, processes, procedures, standards, and requirements; providing highly skilled assistance to departments; scheduling and coordinating meetings; preparing financial documentation; processing requisitions; maintaining data; and preparing analytical or statistical reports.   • Provides highly skilled assistance to the department; work may involve reviewing applications or other information to determine program eligibility or compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, policies, procedures, standards, and requirements; and assisting with coordinating special project operations
  • Manages an assigned budget; work may involve monitoring and authorizing program expenditures, and making and implementing recommendations related to budget processes and procedures
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates meetings; work may involve reserving rooms and other spaces; contacting and sending out notifications to appropriate personnel, vendors, and other agencies; maintaining calendars; monitoring staff operations; transcribing and sending out minutes; preparing meeting agendas; and administering contracts
  • Prepares, edits, formats, reconciles, maintains, and/or submits financial documentation, analytical and statistical reports, financial reports, communications materials, records, letters, files, policy and personnel documents, and other documentation; work may include compiling and analyzing information, and making and implementing related recommendations
  • Performs customer service duties to include providing general and specific information to employees and vendors via phone, email, or in person
  • Coordinates district-wide business travel for the department. This consists of arranging/booking airfare, hotel, registrations, car rentals, and other travel logistics
  • Coordinates with internal and external personnel, departments, and agencies to communicate information, serve as liaison, represent the department/College, and facilitate departmental operations
  • Performs office management duties to include maintaining inventory; ordering supplies; and sorting and distributing mail
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related areas*
  • Three (3) years’ experience in accounting/finance support or related area

*Minimum Education Qualification can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Physical Requirements:

Positions in this class typically require feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
