Richland Community College is seeking an Accounting Assistant to perform routine accounting, data entry and clerical functions requiring analysis and individual judgement. This position will assist the Business Office, including Accounts Payable, Payroll Coordinator, Controller, and Vice President of Financial Services, with filing, reports and data entry.
Typical hours are Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with possible irregular hours.

The Accounting Assistant will perform routine accounting, data entry and clerical functions requiring analysis and individual judgement. This position will assist a variety of positions within the Business Office, which include Accounts Payable, Payroll Coordinator, Controller, and Vice President of Financial Services. Filing, preparing reports, and data entry, as requested. This position will be the first point of contact for visitors of the college Business Office.
Minimum Requirement
High school graduation or equivalent and three years of accounting/bookkeeping experience required. Customer service and administrative/clerical experience is required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in business or accounting and an understanding of accounting principles is preferred.
Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There may be irregular hours including weekend and/or evening hours. Summer hours may vary. This position may be eligible for the Flexible Work Arrangement plan after the 120-day probationary period has been successfully completed.
