Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, P.C. is seeking a Financial Services Audit Manager to lead and oversee audit engagements across multiple offices, including East Brunswick, Red Bank, and NYC.

This role offers a path to Partnership with a collaborative culture and opportunities to mentor staff and deliver world‑class client service. You will supervise planning, risk assessment, fieldwork and reporting while coordinating with partners and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• CPA license is required.
• At least 5 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Experience with audits of funds such as private equity, venture capital, hedge and fund of funds.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead or supervise the engagement team staff on planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation to provide world-class client service.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and conclusion.
• Provide supervision and support to engagement staff, seniors and supervisors and promote open communication to the engagement partner.
• Collaborate with seniors or supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines.
• Create and track engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies.
• Contribute to professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.
• Travel as needed.
