Job summary

One Detroit Credit Union in Detroit, MI is seeking a motivated Member Services professional to deliver courteous service, process loans and memberships, and support members in achieving financial well-being.

You will work in a community‑minded team, helping members with a range of banking needs, including transfers, loans, and product recommendations, while maintaining credit union guidelines and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
• Two years prior banking and customer service experience.
• Identify opportunities to enhance member financial needs and objectives.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with financial systems.
• Professional business appearance.

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate, courteous, and timely professional service to existing and prospective members.
• Operate branch independently with minimal supervision.
• Meet and exceed branch membership and lending goals.
• Build relationships with members and identify opportunities to cross-sell products.
• Process loan and new membership applications following credit union processes.
• Process transfers and distributions, recording transactions per member requests.
• Perform credit card advances, receive loan payments, and service payments as required.
• Assist members by providing information about services and eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate, courteous, and timely professional service to existing and prospective members.
• Ability to operate branch working independently with little or no supervision.
• Meet and exceed branch membership and lending goals and objectives.
• Ability to build relationships with members and identify opportunities to cross sell credit union products and services to enhance their financial well-being.
• Process loan and new membership applications ensuring proper credit union processes are followed and adhered to.
• Process transfers between accounts and automatic distribution forms, recording all transactions according to member's request and credit union guidelines.
• Perform credit card advances, receive loan payments, and service charge payments as required.
• Assist members by providing information and answering questions about the credit union services and requirements/eligibility.
