Job summary

The State Accounting Office (SAO) seeks a Financial Reporting Analyst 1 to join the SWAR division in Georgia. You will help compile the annual financial reports, analyze financial data, and support policy development to ensure GAAP compliance across state reporting efforts.

Under supervision, you’ll collaborate with other professionals, prepare statements and notes, and contribute to improvements in reporting processes and controls. Strong accounting knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
• Ability to prepare accurate accounting entries and complex footnotes.
• Strong analytical and data translation skills for financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and footnotes for the ACFR, BCR and other statewide reports.
• Support GAAP/governmental accounting policy research and process improvements.
• Provide analytical support to guide financial reporting decisions.
