Job summary

The Office of the State Treasurer in Augusta seeks a professional accountant to maintain complex accounts under GAAP and GASB, reconcile credit card and other financial records, and support stop payments and ACH tasks with strong internal controls.

You will prepare agency financial reports, cash forecasts, and budget monitoring, and collaborate with program staff to explain accounting policies and resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Degree or experience showing competency in analyzing data and records.
• Understanding of GAAP/GASB standards and related procedures.
• Ability to apply accounting principles to income statements and balance sheets.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and oversees accounting procedures and internal controls for assets, liabilities, revenues and expenses.
• Reconciles accounts and confirms accuracy of source documents and general ledger.
• Maintains and analyzes accounts, prepares financial reports and notes for statements.
