Job summary

Steptoe LLP seeks a 3–4 year associate to join the Financial Innovation & Regulation practice in Washington, DC or New York. The role focuses on a broad range of financial regulatory matters, collaborating closely with partners advising banks, fintechs, and other financial services clients.

The ideal candidate will have JD and NY/DC Bar admission, strong writing and analytical skills, and an interest in fintech and digital asset regulatory issues. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of financial regulatory experience required.
• JD from an accredited law school and bar admission to NY or DC.
• Strong writing and analytical skills; experience with banks, fintech and financial services clients.

Responsibilities

• Support partners on a broad range of financial regulatory matters across banking, consumer finance, payments, commodities and derivatives.
• Collaborate with clients and partners to develop regulatory strategies and deliver practical advice.
• Develop expertise in fintech and digital asset regulatory issues and contribute to a growing practice.
