Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Quality Engineer for a 6-month contract in Plano, Texas. The role focuses on testing backend financial systems, REST APIs, and non‑functional requirements within CI/CD pipelines.

The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of QA/testing experience in regulated environments, with Python (pytest), SQL, and SOX knowledge. Strong collaboration with developers, accounting, and controls teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA/test engineering experience in backend financial, fintech, or regulated systems.
• Proficiency in Python with hands‑on pytest for test automation.
• Strong test automation skills with CI/CD pipeline integration (Playwright a plus).
• Strong SQL skills for data validation and control testing.
• SOX/internal-control testing experience including segregation‑of‑duties and audit‑ready evidence.
• Experience testing REST APIs (Postman, REST‑assured, etc.).
• Clear, audit‑ready documentation and ability to communicate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and non-functional test plans across multi-step financial workflows.
• Validate complex financial computations and reconcile data; write SQL queries to verify system integrity.
• Translate requirements into executable test cases with developers, accounting, and control stakeholders.
• Test maker-checker workflows, roles, and segregation controls, including negative cases via API testing.
• Test event-driven workflows across services and validate message delivery and idempotency.
• Produce audit-ready artifacts and evidence packages for external audits.
• Track defects through lifecycle and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Generate and manage test data; review logs and troubleshoot across layers.
