Job summary

Mariner Careers is seeking an Intern, Financial Planning in Tigard, Oregon to support advisors in holistic financial planning and client relationship activities. The role provides hands-on experience in onboarding, meeting preparation, and creating financial plans while delivering exceptional client service.

You will learn to use financial planning and CRM tools, assist with data entry and plan modeling, and collaborate on projects with experienced team members.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months of the start of the internship
• Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities
• Major in wealth management, financial planning, finance, or related field (preferred)
• Interest in client-facing advisory career with focus on business development and relationship management

Responsibilities

• Assist in client onboarding by preparing and processing paperwork
• Schedule client meetings and develop materials to explain financial concepts
• Observe client meetings to learn advisory relationships
• Support meeting follow-ups including documentation, research and solution development
• Contribute ideas to improve client service and business development opportunities
• Assist with data entry, plan modeling, and plan deliverables
• Use financial planning and CRM software to assist with plan development
• Collaborate on special projects and client service initiatives
