Job summary

Soni is partnering with a mission-driven organization to fill a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst role to support its financial strategy funded by government agencies and private foundations. You will work closely with the FP&A Manager to develop budgets, forecasts, and multi-year plans, deliver accurate reports, and create dashboards to track grants, contracts, and program budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 5+ years in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting in nonprofit/government funding.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling; ERP experience a plus.
• Strong analytical, detail-focused, and able to present to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and multi-year plans with FP&A Manager.
• Prepare and deliver financial reports to support strategic decisions.
• Monitor spending, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Build tools/dashboards to track grants, contracts, cash flow, and program budgets.
• Collaborate with Payroll, Grants & Contracts, Accounting, HR, Legal, Development, Facilities, and IT.
• Support FP&A team daily operations and provide guidance as needed.

Soni is partnering with a mission-driven organization to find a skilled Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to support the execution of its financial strategy—primarily funded by government agencies and private foundations. This position plays a key role in ensuring robust financial planning and analysis across the organization, working closely with the Manager of FP&A and supporting the broader finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the FP&A Manager to develop and manage the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and multi-year financial plans.
• Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor and analyze spending patterns, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop tools and dashboards to track grant and contract activities, cash flow, and program budgets.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Payroll, Grants & Contracts, Accounting, HR, Legal, Development, Facilities, and IT.
• Assist in managing the FP&A team and supporting its daily operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, preferably in a nonprofit or government-funded environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with financial planning software or ERP systems a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to present complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with grants and contract funding, especially within public sector or legal aid organizations.
• Knowledge of government and foundation funding requirements.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.

Compensation: $35/hr

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
