The ideal candidate is an analytical, solutions-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at translating complex financial data into actionable insights, and fosters a collaborative partnership culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Budgeting & Financial Forecasting
- Lead the annual organization-wide budget process, driving alignment and coordination across all department heads.
- Develop dynamic financial forecasts, long-range financial plans, and scenario models aligned with strategic organizational priorities.
- Translate strategic initiatives into clear, measurable financial and operational targets, key performance indicators (KPIs), and executive reporting frameworks.
Financial Modeling & Business Intelligence
- Build, maintain, and enhance sophisticated financial models to support resource allocation, capital planning, and key operational decisions.
- Evaluate the financial viability, performance, and return on investment for proposed programs, strategic projects, grant funding, and special initiatives.
- Monitor historical performance alongside macroeconomic trends to inform both short- and long-term financial strategies.
Reporting, Insights & Leadership Advisory
- Prepare comprehensive executive reports, dashboards, and board presentations evaluating financial performance, key trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Deliver clear, data-driven financial analyses for senior leadership, the Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors.
- Proactively identify emerging financial risks and formulate practical, solutions-oriented recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to program and department leaders, evaluating the financial impact of ongoing operations, donor funding/grants, and new initiatives.
- Support the development, rollout, and ongoing refinement of financial policies, planning systems, and reporting tools.
- Drive ad hoc financial analyses, special projects, and continuous FP&A process automation and improvement.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or strategic financial management (nonprofit FP&A experience strongly preferred).
- Technical Skills: Advanced financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities; deep proficiency with financial management systems, reporting software, and Excel/bi-tools.
