AIG is seeking an Underwriter II for Financial Institutions, Financial Lines in New York to assess risk, quote policies, and support profitable coverage decisions. You will collaborate with brokers and clients while maintaining compliance and underwriting discipline.

Qualifications

1+ years of underwriting or relevant professional experience.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
For Management Liability positions, a working knowledge of financial statements and analysis.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Evaluating, prioritizing and selecting submissions to be underwritten.
Identifying risk exposures, special or common hazards, claims experience and appropriate controls.
Analyzing claims and quantifying losses.
Adhering to guidelines and underwriting discipline to minimize exposure and appropriately price risks.
Ensuring underwriting files and services standards and compliance guidelines are adhered to on assigned accounts.
Offering coverage, terms and conditions which generate a profit for the Company while meeting the needs of the customer.
Capturing market intelligence and broker feedback on accounts.
Developing and maintaining a submission pipeline to achieve production objectives.
Providing superior customer service to brokers and clients.
