Job summary

American International Group (AIG) in Puerto Rico is seeking an Underwriter to handle Financial Lines, including new and renewal business. You will negotiate pricing and terms, analyze financial statements, and leverage broker relationships to grow profitable accounts.

The role requires strong English/Spanish communication, solid underwriting fundamentals, and collaboration with distribution and other teams. Office-based in Hato Rey with a focus on risk assessment and client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
• Experience in underwriting concepts and financial statements analysis recommended
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and strong communication skills in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal Financial Lines business with brokers and clients.
• Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions and deal structure.
• Request and analyze information from brokers to assess risk.
• Grow business by expanding broker network and attending broker events.
• Collaborate with Distribution and other underwriters to target accounts and cross-sell.
• Evaluate risks, quote and issue policies aligned with underwriting guidelines.
