Job summary

American International Group (AIG) is hiring an Underwriter I for Financial Lines in the Lenexa area. You will underwrite under general supervision, issue quotes and policies, and connect with brokers and clients while maintaining compliance and profitability.

The role emphasizes developing risk understanding, pricing decisions and collaboration with senior underwriters. You will build a pipeline, handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and grow technical expertise in Financial Lines

Qualifications

1+ years of underwriting or relevant professional experience.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment and collaborate with colleagues.

Responsibilities

Underwrites Financial Lines products under supervision, issuing quotes and policies.
Evaluates, prioritizes and selects submissions to be underwritten.
Identifies risk exposures, claims experience and controls.
Analyzes claims and quantifies losses to support pricing decisions.
Ensures files and services standards and compliance guidelines are met.
Sells and negotiates to achieve profitability and meets customer needs.
Develops and maintains a submission pipeline to support production goals.
Provides superior service to brokers and clients and communicates risk appetite.
