Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder, aiming to determine optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability. The team collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure financial improvements resulting from those actions. Our team operates in a fast-paced environment, utilizing cutting-edge analytics to promote data-driven decision making throughout the organization.

Essential Functions

• Seek out new areas of potential improvement, drill into details to find root causes, question assumptions, and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify cost-saving opportunities, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create reports to track progress, and report savings to senior leadership.
• Mine data in SQL to discover trends, identify cause-and-effect relationships, and advise on potential business actions.
• Create automated performance reports in Power BI to communicate metrics and highlight improvement areas.
• Ensure data completeness and accuracy by working with Operations and IT to understand business processes and data storage.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency with Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Advanced understanding of financial modeling and how business actions impact financial statements.
• Proven ability to drive business results through data insights.
• Passion for uncovering solutions in large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Ability to make recommendations to senior management based on data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related fields.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least four years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred.
