Job summary

Referment is building its US credit data set and seeks an experienced financial credit analyst to join the US data team, reporting to the Head of US Data in New York. The role is remote and US-based, using our proprietary machine-learning extraction system to build and maintain US credit market data for institutional investors.

You will process financial reports, verify outputs, own your coverage universe through earnings season, and interact with leading investment firms.

Qualifications

• Accounting/finance background required, US GAAP expertise essential.
• Strong Excel and data-management skills.
• Experience at a Big 4 firm or as a financial data analyst is a plus.
• CPA or CFA preferred.

Referment is working with a specialist credit data provider whose technology is used by major investment banks, asset managers and hedge funds across the US, UK and Europe. Its platform automatically extracts and structures financial data from company filings, giving institutional credit investors auditable fundamentals on demand.

They are building out their US credit data set and hiring an experienced financial credit analyst to join the US data team, reporting to the Head of US Data based in New York. The position is remote and based in the United States, and you will use the company's proprietary machine-learning extraction system to help build and maintain US credit market data.

The Role

• Process financial reports through the company's proprietary data extraction system, assembled using cutting-edge machine learning technology, to grow the US data set.
• Analyse the resulting output for accuracy and completeness using internally developed audit tools and techniques.
• Own your coverage universe, keeping data live through corporate earnings season.
• Interact with clients, including leading investment firms, answering questions about data and product functionality and supporting sales and account management teams.
• Discuss product priorities and strategic objectives with a management team carrying decades of buy-side and sell-side experience in institutional credit markets, and collaborate with engineering on system performance and product improvements.

What We're Looking For

• An accounting and/or finance background, with CPA or CFA preferred, and experience at a Big 4 firm or as a financial data analyst.
• Financial statement audit and analysis capability, including creating financial models and reports from scratch.
• US GAAP experience is essential; IFRS experience is useful.
• Good Excel knowledge plus experience with data management.
• A passion for technology and learning new tools, strong attention to detail, and a self-starter mindset.
• Fluency in English and eligibility to work in the US.
