The counselor will help with payment arrangements, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with medical staff, insurance companies, and CMS as needed. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of healthcare billing and insurance knowledge.
• English proficiency required.
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding helpful; medical terminology and insurance billing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient admissions interviews and verify insurance coverage.
• Provide financial counseling and set up payment arrangements with self-pay patients.
• Coordinate credit and collection procedures on the front end.
• Respond to admissions and billing inquiries with timely, accurate information.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional appearance.
