Job summary

FoundersIQ is a contract remote firm seeking a part-time Financial Controller to lead financial reporting, analysis, and accounting for startups and growth clients within the United States.

You will prepare and review financial statements, monitor compliance with accounting standards, and provide strategic insights to support client growth, budgeting, and FP&A initiatives while working independently from a remote location.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a financial controller
• Experience with startups or in a fast-paced environment
• FP&A preferred
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, 365 & Sage
• Public accounting experience and/or industry accounting experience is a plus

Role Description

This is a contract remote role for a Financial Controller (part time). The Financial Controller will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, overseeing financial reporting, and managing accounting activities. Daily tasks will include performing detailed financial analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and offering strategic financial insights to support business growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a financial controller
• Experience working with startups or in a fast-paced environment is a must
• FP&A preferred
• Strong Analytical Skills in Finance
• Expertise in Accounting
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred
• CPA or relevant certification is a plus
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, 365 & Sage
• Public accounting experienceand/or industry accounting experience(Nice to have)
