Responsibilities

Position Overview

Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Finance Controller (CPA) for a direct-hire opportunity with our client in Gray, Tennessee. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance leader with a strong background in manufacturing, financial reporting, and multi-site accounting to oversee financial operations and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive accounting expertise, strong leadership skills, and experience managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and internal controls across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance and accounting function, providing strategic financial guidance to executive leadership.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes while ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and corporate reporting packages, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
• Coordinate financial operations across multiple sites, standardizing accounting procedures and reporting practices.
• Oversee manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, standard costing, and profitability analysis.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and financial planning.
• Analyze financial performance, key performance indicators, and budget variances to support business decisions.
• Manage banking relationships, working capital, cash positioning, and liquidity.
• Establish and maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate external audits and work with auditors, bankers, tax advisors, and corporate finance teams.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team across multiple locations.
• Partner with operations, procurement, quality, and site leadership to improve financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support acquisitions, new locations, capital expenditure planning, and other growth initiatives.
• Travel to company locations as needed to support audits, inventory reviews, and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Controller, Finance Controller, or similar finance leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience preparing consolidated financial statements and corporate reporting packages.
• Experience managing financial operations across multiple sites, plants, or legal entities.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting, inventory management, and standard cost systems.
• Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing accounting software.
• Proven experience managing month-end close processes and corporate reporting deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to present financial results and recommendations to executive leadership.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel to company locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, defense, or industrial environments.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO standards, government contracts, or other highly regulated industries.
• MBA or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Experience working within a subsidiary of a larger corporate organization.
• Experience with financial consolidation and corporate reporting systems.
• Experience integrating acquired businesses or new locations into established financial processes.
