Job summary

TEAL Staffing’s client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller who thrives in complex environments, delivering advisory impact across private equity, family offices, and middle-market firms. This role is remote with approximately 35% travel and is a direct hire.

The successful candidate will own the entire accounting function, lead balance sheet openings and cash-to-accrual conversions, and drive process improvements in reporting and financial infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proven experience sitting in the Controller seat with full ownership of the accounting function/P&L.
• Experience in a mid-market environment, ideally $50M–$300M in revenue.
• Strong technical accounting background.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction.
• Knowledge of percentage-of-completion, WIP, and cost accounting.
• Experience building an opening balance sheet and/or leading a cash-to-accrual conversion.
• Strong client presence and the ability to communicate with C-level executives.
• Willingness to travel approximately 35%.

Responsibilities

• Step into Controller-level situations and take ownership.

• Improve accounting processes, reporting, and financial infrastructure.
• Work directly with CEOs, CFOs, PE sponsors, and other senior executives.
• Lead client engagements and mentor more junior team members.
• Grow advisory skill set and, over time, progress into fractional CFO engagements and broader leadership opportunities.

What You'll Bring
